X-Men: 12 best and worst character decisions made by Fox

8. Hit – Magneto

Just like Professor X, Fox did a fantastic job bringing Magneto to life. Ian Mckellen looked amazing dawning the crimson cape and helmet. The same can be said for Michael Fassbender. They were cunning and magnetic (pun intended) and their depiction of the anti/villain are memorable. Fox did an amazing job slowly defining Magneto’s ideologies giving us a reason to root for him. They also did a great job making us hate it.

The negative was their overuse of the character but overall they got Magneto right. We hope they don’t overuse him in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.  Now is the time for the X-Men movies to bid farewell to Magneto. There’s an opportunity for a return in later movies.

7. Miss – The Morlocks

Okay so this isn’t a character but you have to admit they belonged on the list. The entire storyline was a botched opportunity. The X-Men versus the Morlocks is a fantastic story that we never got to see play out the right way. In the final installment of the original X-Men trilogy, we saw a Callisto led team defeated in a flash. There wasn’t the epic buildup and there sure as heck wasn’t the emotional victorious battle between Storm and Callisto. The Morlocks served a greater purpose in an iconic X-Men arc, the Mutant Massacre. This all ties to Sinister, Gambit, and the Maurders. Disney has an opportunity to undo the damage done by Fox.
