Joker and Harley Quinn script completed — here’s what we expect
Lead up to Gotham City Sirens
For a time, fans thought Margot Robbie’s girl gang film would be Gotham City Sirens. After all, she was part of GCS not Birds of Prey. When it was announced that Robbie would produce Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey, the thought of Gotham City Sirens died. However, according to Heroic Hollywood (via ComicBook), there’s still hope. David Ayers and Gotham City Sirens comic writer Paul Dini met recently — a step in the right direction.
"“The only thing fans know about [Gotham City Sirens] it is that David Ayer has been attached to direct it since 2016. Ayer… had a meeting with writer Paul Dini, who among many other projects also wrote Gotham City Sirens from 2009 to 2011.”"
Hopefully, Gotham City Sirens is on the table. If so, there’s no better way to set up the film than with Joker and Harley. Introducing Ivy automatically sets up two-thirds of the trio, while there’s still one missing link – Catwoman.
Now that Joker and Harley’s script is finished, fans will anticipate the next logical step – production. Unfortunately, the writers have no idea, when or if Warner Bros will make the film. Still, there’s more to the Joker and Harley story than a romance. We expect Joker and Harley to tell the story of a person freeing themselves of a toxic situation. More importantly, there’s also the tasks of adapting Mad Love and introducing Poison Ivy into the DCEU to set up Gotham City Sirens. What are some things you want to see from Joker and Harley?
