Top 10 villains we want in Marvel’s Spider-Man’s sequel
7. Hammerhead
Talking about criminal empires, the villain number 7 in our list is Hammerhead. Marvel’s Spider-Man toyed around with the idea that, with Fisk behind bars, many other bad guys would want to take his position. And that could be just the case with Hammerhead. He could keep the political theme in the sequel going and making it much more complex and interesting. Besides, everyone knows Spider-Man needs to fight generic goons in his games. Maybe Hammerhead could bring all of his followers to New York City, giving the player a lot of NPC’s to engage with.
Hammerhead is a relatively unknown character, but giving Insomniac’s track with Mr. Negative, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him steal the spotlight in the best way possible. He already appeared in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and given that game is 8 years old, I think he’s ready for more.
6. Sandman
Up until now, we’ve been talking about relatively unknown villains (with the exception of Mysterio). So to change things up a bit, let’s talk about William Baker (A.K.A the Sandman). He’s mostly known for his role in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3. And while that film wasn’t particularly the best entry in the saga, it did one thing right. And that was telling Sandman’s tragic story in a really great way. It showed audiences he has a human side, but also that he’s a force to be reckoned with.
Now imagine coming across a shape-shifter guy who can transform his limbs into any weapon. It would make for a really interesting battle. Not to mention he has all the potential to tell a well-crafted and tragic story (just the way Insomniac likes it). There are endless possibilities for the character, and we would love to see what Marvel’s Spider-Man sequel can do with him (Maybe even fighting him as a giant?). Let’s remember that he already appeared in the first installment of Insomniac’s saga. In one of Peter’s backpacks, there’s a small container which has some of William’s sand inside. So the idea of him showing up in the sequel isn’t something too crazy.
