7. Wonder Woman

After the negative press that Man of Steel and Batman V Superman received, a lot riding on the Wonder Woman movie. However, the one thing that everyone agreed on in Batman V Superman was that Gal Gadot stood out whenever she was on screen. She may have been the best part f the movie and had a small role. Gadot had the honor of being one of the first women to star in a comic book movie. With that honor came a large amount of pressure for this movie to succeed and it did so seemingly with ease.

Wonder Woman did a lot of things that very few movies do well. Tell an origin story and talk about the history of a culture without it being drawn out or boring. Her time on Themyscira was done well. Getting to see Diana before she became the skilled warrior and leader Wonder Woman was great. It gave people a quick background on who she is and how she got so tough. When Diana got to Europe, she remained intimidating while still being naïve.

There were no lulls in this movie even when there was no action or comedy. Wonder Woman flowed smoothly from beginning to end and set the stage for more women to star in superhero movies. Wonder Woman is easily the crown jewel of the DCEU.
