5. Avengers: Infinity War
An event ten years in the making and it lived up to everyone’s expectations. The one concern everyone had was whether or not you could fit so many characters in one movie. All the different personalities and levels of acting in one movie? How could that work? Well, the MCU showed the world how it’s done.
Each character, whether they were a hero or villain, had a chance to shine without making anyone look weak. Even Bruce Banner not being able to change just added more depth to his character. Maybe the best part was the relationship that was developed between Rocket, Groot, and Thor. Thor treated Rocket with respect that he seldom gets. Because of that, Rocket respected Thor more than he did his own teammates.
Then there was Thanos and his Black Order. They brought the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the warriors of Wakanda to the brink of destruction. You can’t say enough about them. To top it off, Thanos won. It may have cost him everything, but he completed his goal and, in his eyes, saved the universe from eating itself. Like Killmonger in Black Panther, Thanos made the audience debate whether or not he was right.
Avengers: Infinity War also set up for Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 beautifully. All of this was done in a movie that was less than three hours long without making things seem cluttered.
