5. Ant-Man

DVD Sales – $31.7 million/1.5 million + units
Blu-ray Sales – $38 million/1.4 million + units
Total Sales – $70 million/3 million units

Who would have thought that Ant-Man could beat an entry in the Iron Man franchise? Apparently it did, as it came out swinging at #1 for its debut week. It certainly helps that Ant-Man had a release in time for the holidays. By Christmas morning, the movie already sold close to 2 million units, bringing in over $1.5 million at the time. Hence, it’s made a good chunk of its lifetime sales just from that.

Ant-Man unfortunately slipped down the charts, as it had to compete with Minions. Much like the other Phase Two release of Iron Man 3, the film continued to drop week after week. Ant-Man did make it into the top twenty best-selling Blu-rays of 2015! For a film with something of corny and lesser-known hero, this is all very impressive. Now, we have to wait and see how well the sequel does.
