2018 was an amazing year for Spider-Man, so it’s time we look ahead at everything 2019 has to offer for the Web-Slinger.
Whether you enjoyed reading his comics, cried when he vanished in Avengers: Infinity War or actually felt like him in Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4, it’s hard to deny the Wall-Crawler had a great 2018. Movies like Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse managed to entertain Spidey fans all around the world, not to mention the big Spider-Geddon event that took place over 5 comic book issues. However, as amazing as 2018 was, it’s time we look ahead at what is yet to come for our hero.
This year may not be as action-packed as the last one, but it has the potential to be truly memorable for Spider-Man. The highly anticipated Far From Home will finally hit theaters! And the hero will also make a video-game appearance this time around. With many things are in store for the Web-Slinger, here’s everything Spider-Man related to look forward to in 2019.
(A lot of) Spider-Man comics in January
Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, and Venom will all have comic books releasing in January. The year already started with a bang with the very first issue of Champions (2019) releasing and featuring one of the most beloved Spider-Men ever: Miles Morales. But things don’t stop there, as a new and highly anticipated series will also make its debut this month. Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will hit stores on January 9, bringing with it the promise of Spidey going back to his roots as a small-time hero dealing with a lot of common and human problems.

Hunted (March)
Kraven the Hunter is considered one of Spider-Man’s greatest enemies. So when Marvel announced they would deliver a huge Kraven story, many of us got immediately excited. Lucky for us, it’s not long before we can finally discover what Marvel has in store for our hero.
Written by Nick Spencer and with illustrations by Humberto Ramos, the Hunted story-line will begin on March 13 within ASM #17 pages. And it’ll most likely be something truly memorable for Spidey fans. After all, other stories involving Kraven (like Kraven’s Last Hunt) tend to be considered as some of the most iconic comic book reads of all time. So you probably understand why Hunted has the potential to be something pretty special.
Avengers: Endgame (April)
We are still not over Spider-Man’s death in Avengers: Infinity War. Fortunately, it won’t be long until the Wall-Crawler appears on the big screen again. Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26, and it’s probably the most anticipated movie of all time.
Last time we watched Earth Mightiest Heroes assemble on the big screen they weren’t able to stop Thanos from whipping half of the life in the universe. As a result, many of our favorite heroes turned to dust in front of our very own eyes, including Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. However, we presume the heroes who managed to survive will join forces one last time to set things right and undo the events caused by the finger snap. It’s still unknown how they will manage to do it, but whatever the case may be, we’re pretty sure Spider-Man will swing among other Marvel heroes one more time.
IMDb’s cast and crew list of Avengers: Endgame includes Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Besides, Sebastian Stan mentioned there is one scene in the movie where every MCU hero appears at the same time. This pretty much confirms the Web-Slinger will be back by the time the credits for Avengers: Endgame roll.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (July)
Another thing that confirms Spidey will indeed be alive at the end of Avengers: Endgame is the release of his next movie Far From Home. While a trailer hasn’t been released yet, many are already excited to watch Tom Holland swing back again as Spider-Man. Featuring a brand new Spider-suit, Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio and the Elementals as a new kind of enemies, Homecoming‘s sequel has the potential to blow the first one out of the water.
In case you want to read our analysis of Spidey’s new suit, we’ll leave a link to the article right here. Alternatively, our sister page Bam! Smack! Pow! has a trailer description for Far From Home which you can read here. (Maybe if we keep ourselves busy enough with all these reading time will go by very fast. Let’s just hope).
Lego Spider-Man sets (Winter)
Tired of reading or watching somebody else’s version of the Web-Slinger’s stories? Well, it’s time to make your own adventure with the help of Lego Spider-Man! Five new sets will release on Winter, featuring characters like Carnage, Miles Morales, The Green Goblin, Spider-Gwen, Sandman, Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099), and more! As you can see, there are definitively some great minifigures right there that are worth checking out.
It remains to be seen if the Wall-Crawler appears in any of the Lego Avengers sets. Nonetheless, there is supposedly one Endgame set called “Battle of the Assembled Avengers” where we suspect every Marvel hero will come together for one last fight. If that turns out to be the case, we could expect to see Spidey next to the likes of Iron Man and Captain America in the form of Lego minifigures.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 (TBD)
Ten years ago, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 was released to the delight of many fans. However, as good as the game was, a third entry was never announced… until now. During The Game Awards (2018) a surprise was revealed in the form of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. A video game exclusive for the Nintendo Switch that will feature many of Earths Mightiest Heroes including (you’ve guessed it) your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
The game will follow the footsteps of Avengers: Infinity War‘s story, where Thanos and the Black Order want to bring chaos all over the universe by using the Infinity Stones. That means many iconic Marvel landmarks will be featured in the game, as well as fan-favorite characters. Up to four players can join the fun in the next chapter of Ultimate Alliance. And while the exact release date hasn’t been announced, it will hit stores this year according to the official page. It’s just a matter of time before we get more information about the game. Meanwhile, you can watch the trailer right here!
The third season of Spider-Man 2017’s TV series?
The last episode of Spider-Man (2017 TV series) aired on August 13, 2018. And while the show hasn’t been officially renewed for a third season, it hasn’t been canceled either. At the time of writing this, there isn’t anything certain about the series’ future. But we can always speculate! If it turns out Disney does decide to make a third season, we can expect it to air this year, adding to the list of things to be excited about. Until then, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Many surprises could be in store for everyone’s favorite Web-Slinger over the year. Perhaps a sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 can be announced, as well as news over Morbius’ production. Also, many comic books featuring our hero will keep releasing throughout the whole year. Whatever happens next, we’ll make sure to break it down for you right here in Whatever A Spider Can!
