Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’s spinoffs may go beyond the big screen, according to a report.
Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse took off in popularity upon release, due to its unique way of telling a Spider-Man story, which had showcased a young, developing Peter Parker over the years. While this was animated, it focused on Miles Morales and introduced other web-crawlers.
This universe can expand with sequels and film spinoffs for Morales and Spider-Woman. However, what if Sony hit the small screen to expand the Spider-Verse?
Television shows based on this film are under consideration, according to The New York Times, based on the characters that appeared.
This report did not include the specific characters, but Spider-Ham and Peni Parker may make for an entertaining show. Spider-Ham, in particular, was the most comedic web-crawler of Into the Spider-Verse.

Either way, Sony has a content machine at its hands with Into the Spider-Verse. Whether it’s film, television or merchandise, it can develop all forms of media for years to come, with a franchise to replace the live-action Spider-Man films, which they produced five of.
There’s also the October 2018 hit, Venom, which opened a villainous realm for Sony. Morbius will arrive, as well, along with other antagonist-centric productions in the works, which the Times noted, that a Black Cat and Silver Sable movie remains possible.
Sony seems just fine with Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s early into the process, but so far, so good, with the last two films as box office successes and more on the way. They may never challenge the MCU, but, it’s more content for moviegoers to consume and enjoy in the years to follow. Who says no to that?
