2. Merging the X-Men with the MCU is for the best

Let’s be honest. there are some fans who didn’t like how Fox treated the X-Men — especially with the original trilogy. Bryan Singer came back to save the day but after the mix reviews for X-Men: Apocalypse — fans are over it. Moreover, there’s a palpable excitement surrounding the X-Men joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Imagine what Civil War would have been if the X-Men was part of the plot like they were in the pages of Marvel Comics. Civil War is over but the X-Men can finally take their rightful place along other Marvel heroes. The X-Men has a universe within the Marvel universe and Disney can exploit that. There are a few X-Men the MCU should consider for the immediate future, and beyond.

Moreover, there are a few characters who deserve the Disney treatment. Characters like Kitty Pryde, Gambit, Mystique, Iceman and Rogue all deserve a retelling of their stories. As a matter of fact, fans planned on having Gambit re-join the X-Men universe. However, their plans included Channing Tatum, but there are better options to re-introduce Gambit to the big screen.

With Fox seemingly giving up, Disney could use Gambit to develop a mutant massacre arc and introduce Mr. Sinister. Moreover, Mystique could use a tune-up by way of a solo movie that introduces Destiny and Rogue into the MCU. Of course, Rogue could end Captain Marvel’s reign by draining her powers leading to her joining the Avengers, but I digress.
