Spider-Man: Far From Home: What exactly is Peter Parker staring at?

Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame have yet to hit theaters. Yet, the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, dropped on Tuesday, Jan. 19, featuring Peter Parker’s return to the big screen. It may have induced questions since Infinity War was the last time viewers saw Spider-Man, but those should receive answers over the next three months.

Aside from the trailer’s question marks, a still from United Airlines, the product-placed brand in Far From Home, has Peter and Ned staring at something in the distance.

What, exactly, is unknown. Judging from their expressions, it may not be positive. The same goes for responses to this United Airlines tweet, which had its own “theories.”

So what are Peter and Ned staring at?

• The bathroom at the back of the plane.
• Peter’s developing love interest, MJ.
• A crying kid.
• Someone snoring behind Peter and Ned.
• Flash Thompson shouts something to mock Peter and Ned.
• Peter sees a vision of Tony Stark, or the real Tony Stark, at the back of the plane. Iron Man’s fate is in the balance in Avengers: Endgame.
• Peter looks towards the back of the plane due to his Spidey Sense, and Ned looks confused at what it may be.

Maybe it’s not important, but it’s the film’s first still, and there’s usually something to search for in these pre-released photos from MCU productions.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will hit theaters on July 5 and become the final MCU film of the year. Two movies precede it, though, so there’s a long road to travel, before reaching this Tom Holland-led adventure.
