The Eternals to reportedly start production later this summer

Marvel’s The Eternals will reportedly kick off production sooner than expected.
The Eternals is one of the new properties headed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following the release of Avengers: Endgame. Details have been scarce in terms of the plot and characters. However, it appears the project now has a production start date.
Discussing Film reports that The Eternals will officially begin production in August, with filming taking place in Atlanta. Although no reps from Marvel Studios or Disney have confirmed the news, the report isn’t far-fetched. Marvel have shot many of their films in Atlanta, including Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War and Black Panther.
Despite not even being officially announced by Marvel Studios yet, a few things are known about The Eternals. The biggest thing is that Chloé Zhao has been tapped to helm the project. It has also been reported that the film is aiming for a 2020 release date, which now seems likely given this reported production start date.

Marvel is now in an interesting situation, in which they have several films in development that have yet to be officially announced. Aside from Eternals, Cate Shortland’s Black Widow movie is said to start shooting soon and hit theaters at some point in 2020.
In the past, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has stated that the studio’s future plans wouldn’t be revealed until after the release of Avengers: Endgame. This will most likely happen at this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con.
With 2019 production starts, both The Eternals and Black Widow should be well-represented at Marvel’s Hall H conference, and there will probably be panels for each project. Not to mention fans may even get a peek at some Black Widow footage.
There’s still a number of unknown variables when it comes to The Eternals, but it probably won’t be too long until the public gets its first taste of these cosmic beings.
