News has recently broken that the script for Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’ movie, which has been penned by Adam Sztykiel, contains dialogue from three distinct DC characters: Hawkman, Atom Smasher, and Stargirl.
The Black Adam screenplay is reportedly done. Not only does this mean we get to see the first movie appearance of Justice League staple Hawkman, but also an interesting side character in Atom Smasher, and a newly minted hero known as Stargirl.
Stargirl has been confirmed to get her own series on the DC streaming service DC Universe, so her appearance in the DCEU may be puzzling to some. Out of all of the characters that could possibly face off against Black Adam, Stargirl would likely be my last pick of the proverbial fantasy draft.
However, this may make her perfect for the film. Her being the last hero someone would expect to see may come as a welcome surprise, and one would imagine that she would work her way into the Justice League as a direct product. Stargirl cannot enter the DCEU without the right actress though, and there may be five perfect options for the role!
1. Britt Robertson

Britt Robertson may be known best for her role in the hit film Tomorrowland, but it is her character from the series Under the Dome that gives her a decided edge as Stargirl. Stargirl can be perceived as a naive, young hero, but she is still a hero nonetheless.
In Under the Dome, Britt Robertson stunned audiences by evolving from a helpless teenager into a fearless leader, and that same evolution will eventually be seen from Stargirl in the DCEU. Robertson has become somewhat of a name in the realm of young adult entertainment, and her addition to the cast could be welcomed with open arms by fans.
2. Madison Lintz

Madison Lintz may be a slightly underground choice for a character in a high-profile superhero movie, but dedicated fans of the television series The Walking Dead know all about her. For those of you who don’t know, Lintz played little Sophie (the girl who famously emerged from Hershel’s barn as a zombie), and managed to steal every scene she was in at such a young age.
It is that kind of acting that makes you think she could shine as bright as a star in the shoes of Stargirl. While she has not been on the big screen much in her life, her acting prowess could easily make her a frontrunner for the character, and it would be great to see such a brilliant actress finally break into the mainstream.
3. Emily Kinney

Speaking of The Walking Dead, who could forget everyone’s favorite blonde firecracker, Beth? Emily Kinney has taken time to focus on her music since being written off the hit television show, but she has still managed to appear as a villain on The Flash, and the superhero world suits her.
While she may be a little older than Robertson and Lintz, the truth is she looks much younger than she truly is, and she could pass as a teenager well into her 40s. Kinney has often been given roles that are well below her talent level and, with how similar she looks to Stargirl, it wouldn’t be surprising if she actually snagged it.
4. Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning is understandably an acting prodigy (due to her relation to Dakota Fanning) and has made a name for herself through her role in Maleficent. While it seems that her career is taking off quite nicely, with an endless stream of movies coming out between 2014 and 2019, there is still a slight chance that such an anticipated film may get her on board.
In all likeliness, Stargirl will probably join the Justice League after Black Adam. This means that Fanning will get a huge piece of the DCEU pie, and a lot of notoriety among a whole new group of fans. Aside from her status in Hollywood, she matches looks with Stargirl almost identically, and her sheer image could be enough to land her the part.
5. Alona Tal

Alona Tal may be the oldest actress on this list, but she may also be the best fit. Tal was the frontrunner for Black Canary for years before Jurnee Smollett-Bell was cast, meaning that she is on DC’s radar, but a more mature Stargirl may be her speed.
It may be a bit of a stretch to want Tal to pull off an innocent act, but if she were to play the hero a few years into her career, I think that she would be an excellent fit. She has just the look to play the petite blonde hero, and with her in-your-face personality and reliable acting style, she may be her second shot at the DCEU in Stargirl.
So who do you think should play Stargirl? Let us know in the comments!
