Justice League: Was this Zack Snyder’s choice to play Darkseid?

Justice League film details continue to spill from Zack Snyder’s version before he left production in 2017, including who may have played Darkseid.

18 months after its release, the DC Extended Universe’s Justice League movie continues to make news, and usually for the wrong reasons or for Zack Snyder to reveal a detail from his version of the film.

Snyder left the director’s chair months before the film released, leading to Joss Whedon taking over production and contributing to the disappointing reviews and box office turnout.

Well, Snyder dropped another tidbit on his Justice League, or seemingly did so. He posted an image on Vero, per CBR, of actor Ray Porter and captioned, “He’s the man.” This eventually followed with “For Darkseid,” when answering a user’s response.

Porter has made appearances in shows like Modern Family, Shameless, The Mentalist and Justified.

Darkseid, of course, did not appear in Whedon’s released version of Justice League, amid the changes he made to the film. Other characters were cut, including Kiersey Clemons’ Iris West, so if Porter as this classic DC Comics villain was involved in production, the only way fans will ever witness this is if the popularized “Snyder Cut” releases.

More reveals from Snyder seem inevitable. Maybe another one drops tomorrow, next week, next month or next year. The Justice League the world received, though, was a failure critically and financially, thus the DCEU reboot that started with Aquaman and Shazam and will continue with Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984 and yet-to-be-started productions.

There is an exciting future for the DCEU ahead, but Snyder’s tidbits are a reminder of a disappointing past.
