Steve Rogers the Worthy
It was time for the final battle in Avengers: Endgame. Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor were going up against Thanos. The problem was, none of them had been in a real fight in a while. Also, even without the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos is far from a pushover. Steve Rogers tightened up the straps on his shield and prepared to fight Thanos one on one, a match Cap can’t win. Thankfully, he found something to even the odds a bit. He did something comic book fans knew was possible. He picked up Thor’s hammer and used Mjolnir like he’d been wielding it for years. It may not have been enough, but it ended up being one of the best moments in Avengers: Endgame.
This shouldn’t be a surprise to people who’ve been watching the MCU films. During Avengers: Age of Ultron, Steve tried to pick up Thor’s hammer and saw it budge. Thor was nervous, but that’s why he wasn’t shocked when he saw Cap using his hammer.
Comic book moment
Captain America has been worthy on more than a few occasions. Most recently, he took the hammer from Hydra Steve Rogers (Secret Empire) and used it to beat him unconscious. Previously, he used it in Fear Itself to defeat the Asgardian-enhanced minions of Odin’s brother Cul Borson. It won’t be shocking if he does it again in the future.
