Thanos breaks the shield
After a hard-fought battle, Captain America stared down Thanos and attacks him. Even with his shield and Mjolnir, he was no match for the Mad Titan. Thanos beat Cap down and even broke his shield into pieces. So much for it being unbreakable. Anyone who was a fan of the Infinity Gauntlet comic book story hoped this would happen.

In Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos and Captain America had a stand-off. Cap looked Thanos directly in his eyes and told him he wouldn’t win. He told the cosmic villain that as long as one person stood against him, he’ll never win. Thanos scoffed saying, “Noble sentiments from one who is about to die.” Cap responded like only he could, “I’ve lived my life, by those sentiments” and the two fought. Surprisingly, Thanos didn’t just use the Infinity Stones to completely obliterate Cap. However, he did use them to have the ground hold his legs. This gave Thanos more of more than the advantage he needed. He then pummeled Cap’s shield until it cracked and then swatted it away. After that, it didn’t take long for him to beat Cap. During this fight, Thanos realized that he had taken everyone too lightly and prepared himself for the bigger battle, just as he did in the movie.
