4. Waiting

Movie: Avengers: Endgame

Thanos had been killed in this time period. However, it didn’t solve anything. Half of life in the universe was turned to dust. In order to set things right, the Avengers had to go back in time and retrieve all the Infinity Stones from the past to snap one more time. While trying to get the Power Stone before Star-Lord could, Nebula came across her past self. Because they’re connected, the past Nebula could read her thoughts. She found out exactly what was being planned and told her father Thanos. They stole the Pym Particles to travel to the present, and immediately fired on the Avengers’ hideout when they arrived. When Thanos shows up, he walks over to a piece of debris and sits. Nebula asks what he’s doing and he simply says, “Waiting.”

This was a deep moment. It showed how calm and cool Thanos is under pressure. He never fought the Avengers before, but he knew of their legacy. Despite this, he didn’t flinch, even when Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man approached him. He sat and waited for the inevitable battle. Not every villain is going to have the cool he had in that moment. However, Thanos is a the kind of villain who rarely lets his emotions affect his plans. It was a sight to behold, and it’s easily one of my best moments from Avengers: Endgame.
