When will X-Men: Dark Phoenix release in theaters?
Dark Phoenix will wrap up the X-Men Universe that began in 2000. What day will it release in theaters?
The end is near for the X-Men Universe, at least the one under the Fox banner. These characters have been acquired for use by Disney’s Marvel Studios, which just wrapped up its Avengers: Endgame release in April.
Closing the current X-Men’s run is Dark Phoenix, which will cover Jean Grey’s villainous turn, that started in 2016’s Apocalypse. It is another prequel, as well, ending a run that included First Class, Days of Future Past and the aforementioned Apocalypse.
The Dark Phoenix trailer already depicted Mystique’s death, which was shocking for promotional material to reveal. Maybe it is only a swerve for the potential moviegoers, but it was an unusual way to highlight a lame duck film.

Otherwise, Jean’s fury is on display throughout, showcasing her warpath and potential destruction of the people she used to align with. Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain’s mystery character is there as a mentor.
So when will moviegoers witness the final X-Men installment? Just around the corner, as Dark Phoenix will release in theaters on Friday, June 7. Preview airings are on Thursday, June 6. Check your nearest theater to see when first viewings are available.
Dark Phoenix closes the book on an historic run for a superhero franchise. It is older than the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which developed in 2008. How will this 19-year saga end, though? That remains to be seen upon release, as Magneto, Professor X and the other characters known to fans will grace the screen.
