Mindy Kaling as relit the Ms. Marvel flame and desires an unknown actress for the role.

It seems like ever since 2014 when Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige came out and announced that they were in the process of making a Captain Marvel movie starring the character of Carol Danvers, the entire Marvel fandom has been screaming for a fan favorite that goes hand in hand with Danvers, Kamala Khan.

Pretty odd when you consider the character was just introduced in August of 2013 and is already more anticipated than the character who has held the mantle since 1968. It speaks volumes to not only the characters charming personality and relatability but the desperate need for an injection of culture in the MCU and comic book movies as a whole.

Kamala Khan being the first Muslim American character makes her a desirable character to see adapted to the MCU and with Carol Danvers off in the vast voids of space, the Earth needs an every day Captain Marvel.

The timing seems right to The Office star Mindy Kaling, as well. Kaling made her thought’s on a Ms. Marvel movie well known. She’s offering any help she can to get Kamala Khan on the big screen and while she may be out of the age range to play the character, she still has plenty of insight and savvy to make a film happen behind the camera.

She may not be able to play Kamala, but she believes an unknown Muslim actress should get the role. Marvel should go the same route they went with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and find a young actress with the potential to be the next headlining star in Hollywood.

Unknown actresses are pretty hard for everyday fans to discover and makes it difficult to speculate. I have done my best to find a few names that I think fly far enough under the radar to reach the unknown range but they all have household name potential.
