Marvel rumored to meet with Donnie Yen, Ludi Lin for roles in Shang-Chi
Marvel Studios has Donnie Yen and Ludi Lin in mind for the titular Shang-Chi role in its cinematic universe, according to a report.
Marvel Studios has a new phase of films to focus on for its cinematic universe. While Spider-Man: Far From Home will close Phase 3, it could also open the door for Phase 4, as there are no officially announced films afterward; although Black Widow is filming and The Eternals is a lock.
Along with those and the inevitable sequels to previous films, Shang-Chi is still on the schedule. This will be Marvel’s first Asian superhero, with a release date unknown.

No castings have been made for it, but Marvel is rumored to meet with a handful of actors for roles. Per That Hashtag Show, Donnie Yen and Ludi Lin are among them, as they will meet with the studio. More actors are expected to follow suit.
Yen is known for his role in the Ip Man franchise and 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. His acting accolades date to the 1980s, with over 35 years of experience.
Lin played the Black Ranger in 2017’s Power Rangers and Murk in Aquaman. Potentially receiving this titular role mirrors Zachary Levi, who held a supporting role in the Thor trilogy, but jumped to DC for the lead role in Shazam.
Yen and Lin, in whichever role they are potentially cast for, would add veteran actors to this film. Public details are still scarce, so it will be interesting to see if they join the film and who else may sign on this year.
