The grandfather of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has spoken, as Robert Downey Jr. wants Ironheart in the MCU. It’s just a matter of time, and who. Luckily for Kevin Feige, we have some ideas.

Avengers: Endgame culminated more than a decade of integral storytelling that made up Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. Kevin Feige along with a team of directors and writers brought some of Marvel’s greatest heroes to life. Of course, there are still some heroes who have yet to make their big-screen debut

The mysterious next phase of the MCU will introduce new characters like The Eternals and Shang-Chi, but those characters barely scratch the surface. There is plenty of time to introduce the many characters fans clamored for like Namor, Nova, and Moon Knight.

With Iron Man’s fate sealed, one would assume Feige plans to have someone fill his iron boots. Iron Lad, is a possibility thanks to Ty Simpkins’ Endgame cameo and his recent comments. However, according to Ironheart writer, Eve L. Ewing the grandfather of it all, Robert Downey Jr. wants Ironheart in the MCU.

The idea fits where the MCU is headed. Kevin Feige and company have made a conscious effort to improve on their lack of inclusion. Black Widow is getting a well-deserved solo film and the Endgame all-female scene was refreshing.

Downey Jr’s request to include Ironheart is an intriguing suggestion that fans of the hero can get behind. Ironheart was first introduced in 2016’s Invincible Ironman as Irongirl.

Riri is a young hero who can bring a childlike dynamic that Spider-Man provides. Similarly, to Shuri from Black Panther and, of course, Valkyrie, Riri gives Marvel another female of color who’ll garner much fan support. Unlike the aforementioned heroes, her story also brings a different tone to the MCU.

Riri’s not from another world, or hidden country. She’s from an inner-city Chicago neighborhood. With a story depicts the death of her loved ones; which played a pivotal role in her becoming a hero.

Hollywood is filled with several young women of color who’d nail the role of Riri Williams. However, before we get into the who’ll play Ironheart, knowing a little about who she is helps.
