The first reactions to Spider-Man: Far From Home have hit the web, but what are people saying?
Spider-Man: Far From Home is just around the corner, and fans are anxious to check out the web-slinger’s latest big screen adventure. Of course, the film has already been screened for critics, and they’re sharing their initial reactions on social media.
With the social media embargo now lifted, film pundits are sharing their thoughts on Marvel Studios’ latest film, and the response has been positive. So far, praise has been directed at Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and his chemistry with Zendaya’s MJ. Critics have also applauded Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio. Aside from the acting, set pieces and action sequences, pundits are also teasing two major post-credits scenes:
#SpiderManFarFromHome is funny, exciting, romantic, goofy & follows HOMECOMING in being this brilliant ground-level look at Spidey's world & how the events of #AvengersEndgame impacted everyday life. Lots of twists & turns, plus some adorable summer romances, too. I'm a big fan pic.twitter.com/NUX0f8YFM0

#SpiderMan #FarFromHome is an absolute home run. It’s SO much fun. It’s huge in itself and for the future of the MCU in the most surprising ways. Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, just a lethal, awesome combo!!

I cannot wait to see this movie again. And again. pic.twitter.com/0hYJvKkdjN
#Spiderman #FarFromHome is SUCH a good movie! Jake Gyllenhaal suits up & completely embraces his role in its entirety & he’s clearly having a blast. This is such a refreshing film after the heaviness of #EndGame. The post-credit scenes are a MUST WATCH & will blow your dang mind! pic.twitter.com/wcTh9iHaYq

Ok friends. #SpiderManFarFromHome is jaw dropping. First half is a lot of fun, coasting on the good vibes of the HOMECOMING cast. But that second half is EXTRAORDINARY, delivering the BEST Spidey action ever. Most SHOCKING ending in a Spider-Man movie ever. Fans will flip out! pic.twitter.com/VcZR3egUWs

#SpiderManFarFromHome is the coda we needed after Endgame, a glimpse of how the world looks now that the dust has settled. Could maybe have gone a bit harder on P's emotional arc, but bursting with warmth and humor and awkward teen romance. 💕 Also: Jake G = perfect casting.

absolutely loved #SpiderManFarFromHome. Captures the spirit of the comics and mixes in some amazing movie magic. The second the film ended I wanted to watch it again. #JakeGyllenhaal is fantastic as Mysterio. pic.twitter.com/4ZYaS0L8mf

Absolutely loved SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME. I’m a huge Mysterio fan and Gyllenhaal nails him. Also the movie is very clever (and funny) how it handles the fallout post ENDGAME in explaining how this world works now.

I liked it a tad more than Spider-Man: Homecoming, which I loved. Far From Home is a great afterword for Endgame, closing out Marvel Phase 3 with a bang while also setting up new challenges and exciting stuff ahead. That's all I'm gonna say until my review runs.

#SpiderManFarFromHome isn't quite as wonderful as Homecoming, but it's a really strong, endearing sequel that delivers some excellent moments in its second half in particular. It commendably furthers Peter's story while laying groundwork for what's next in a notably deft way.

FAR FROM HOME has dethroned Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 & is now favorite Spider-Man film.

What’s insane is that I can’t even tell u why I’m so in love with this film because it would be a spoiler.
Gyllenhaal is incredible. Holland re-confirms as the best Spidey to date. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/pbynxYIEyQ
Spider-Man: Far From Home has been one of the most anticipated films of the year. Following the box office and critical success of its predecessor, Spider-Man: Homecoming, in 2017, a sequel was all but assured. Viewers responded well to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, as well as the high-school movie motif for the series.

In addition to being part of the Spider-Man franchise, it will also be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to take place after Avengers: Endgame, a fact that should propel the film to a high box office cume. As of right now, analysts are predicting the film to have an opening weekend total of $150 million or more. And Far From Home wouldn’t be the first MCU installment to benefit from an Avengers film. In 2013, Iron Man 3, the first movie to follow The Avengers, scored an opening weekend of $174.1 million, and finished its run with a worldwide total of $1.2 billion.
The early lifting of the social media embargo indicates that Marvel Studios and Sony were confident about the film, and this faith seems to have been justified thus far. We’ll have to wait a few more weeks to see how general audiences respond to the film. But based on this early, positive buzz and high tracking numbers, Marvel Studios appears to be swinging towards another win.
