Tom Holland wants a ‘Spider-Verse’ movie with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield

Tom Holland would love to do a live-action ‘Spider-Verse’ movie, with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprising their Spider-Man roles.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a hit with comic book fans and general audiences alike, performing well at the box office and earning numerous accolades. Tom Holland is also a fan of the film and is even open to doing a live-action adaptation with some familiar faces.
While speaking with Jake Hamilton, Holland expressed excitement at the idea of doing a live-action “Spider-Verse” movie with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. He’s also well aware that fans would love to see the three actors on screen together:
"“Of course I would love to make a movie with those guys, it would be so cool! It would be amazing, it would be really, really cool. And it’s something that the fans really want.”"
Of course, as Holland points out, greenlighting the film isn’t his decision to make, as that choice ultimately lies with Marvel Studios and Sony:
"“So whether Marvel and Sony decided to do that, it’s up to them. It’s not up to me, I can’t walk in like ‘Kevin [Feige], this is what we’re doing on the next one.’ But it would be really awesome.”"

Holland has never hidden the fact that he was a Spider-Man fan before landing the role, and this further cements that fact. This also isn’t the first time he’s expressed interest in working with a former Spider-Man actor, as he previously mentioned the idea of having Tobey Maguire play Uncle Ben in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Maguire, Garfield and Holland’s interpretations of the Friendly Neighborhood hero all connected with different generations of fans and, as mentioned, it’s no secret they would love to see all of them meet up on the big screen. And with the introduction of the multiverse in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home, getting them together is possible. With this, Marvel Studios and Sony would have no trouble setting up the movie and getting people to see the film.
One of the most entertaining aspects of Into the Spider-Verse was the interactions between the different Spider-People. All three actors played distinct versions of the characters, and mixing those personalities could be interesting. Realistically, it’s unlikely a film like this will ever happen, but one can never say never.
