What happened to the Farmies?
According to Kevin, the Farmies are now “gone forever” following the Ascension. But what does that mean? Surely, Edgar and Evelyn are still alive, considering they were the ones running the con, though they may be in the wind when the show returns. Alice is also presumably still alive, but where is she? Has she perhaps been kidnapped by the Evernevers, or is she in hiding?
Additionally, what will happen to Kevin? Feeling both rejected by The Farm for being forced to stay behind and miss out on the Ascension and alienated from his old friends for joining The Farm, he will likely need some time to recover from his brainwashing ordeal. But how long? Will he ever be the person he was before? Will he and Betty reconcile?
And where is Fangs? Is he still alive? Will he be able to recover, as well? Will he and Kevin find happiness again?
What’s the deal with Charles? How will his presence affect Bughead?
There have already been plenty of jokes made about Bughead being sibling-ish because of Falice, even more so after the revelation that Falice had a secret love child, Charles. Now that Charles, an FBI agent, is not only alive and well but also Riverdale’s newest resident, there’s bound to be some awkwardness for Bughead, right?

After all, dating someone who is the half-sibling of your half-sibling is… unusual. That being said, Bughead are a teenager crime-fighting duo, one of whom was almost killed by her serial killer father and the other of whom was almost killed by associates of his drug kingpin mother, so the extraordinary is actually pretty ordinary for them.
Season four will also have to unpack a lot about Charles himself. Last we heard, he had been murdered by Chic, who had then tried to assume his identity. Chic, who was unmasked as the Gargoyle King in the finale, will have some explaining to do. If he didn’t kill Charles, why lie? Or is it possible that he left Charles for dead, but Charles ultimately pulled through?
Charles will, of course, also have his own deal of explaining to do. How did he find Alice, and why would he have permitted a civilian with no experience, let alone his own mother, to take on such a dangerous assignment? And why would the bureau have sanctioned such an inherently risky operation?

Is Varchie really endgame?
“When it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year” is a pretty accurate summary of Varchie’s season three arc. Their timing and emotional states were just never quite in sync, that is until the finale when they finally got back together — as pretty much everyone, but especially Fred and Mary, had predicted.
Where do they go from here, though? Are they really in it for the long haul? Based on the flash-forward in which Betty insists they all part ways after graduation to keep their secret safe, Varchie’s future may very well be in jeopardy. But they’ve always defied the odds before. Will this time be different?
