The character of Ahsoka Tano may possibly be in the running to make her live-action debut in a Star Wars movie.

With Star Wars – Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker set to hit theaters on December 20th, fans of the Star Wars franchise, who are at least cautiously optimistic are bracing themselves for what the magnetized and subvert – inducing genre filmmaker and Bad Robot company man, J.J. Abrams and Argo and Batman v. Superman co-writer, Chris Terrio, have in store for the closing chapter to the Skywalker saga.

Since dropping reports on of a number of big screen projects from Marvel and Lucasfilm, in addition to some rumored limited series to be featured on Disney Plus – such as Lando Calrissian and a She-Hulk series – We Got This Covered has dropped another rumor about one big screen project that could take precedence and feature a fairly popular character in the larger Star Wars canon — Ahsoka Tano.

For those who do not know, Ahsoka first appeared in the 3D-animated film, The Clone Wars and later  became one of the leads in all five seasons of the animated series of the same name. Ahsoka made subsequent appearances in Star Wars Rebels as a supporting character. Created by George Lucas and Dave Filoni, she was written and designed as a foil to Anakin Skywalker, in part due to how he became a Padawan in Episode II: Attack of the Clones to a Jedi Knight in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
