In spite of the rumors, Carlos Valdes has confirmed that he is returning to The Flash for its sixth season.

It appears that rumors of Vibe’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.

As The Flash built towards its season finale, rumors began to circulate, suggesting that actor Carlos Valdes would be leaving the show, bringing an end to his five-year stint on the show. However, those rumors have down been nixed by the man himself.

During the cast’s appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, Valdes spoke to Entertainment Weekly and confirmed that he would indeed be returning next season.

Valdes has portrayed Cisco Ramon since the show first began back in 2012, making his very first on-screen appearance as the character during an episode of Arrow‘s second season.

Throughout his tenure on the Scarlet Speedster’s series, he would also portray alternate versions of the character, including his villainous Earth-2 doppelganger Reverb and an alternate-reality mobster.

The real Cisco, however, would become a major part of the fabric of The Flash, playing an integral role on Team Flash. He then gained his own metahuman abilities and went on to become the hero known as Vibe.

However, while Valdes will indeed be returning, it appears that his superheroic alter-ego may not. After all, the Season 5 finale saw Cisco take the long-teased metahuman cure and, as a result, he lost his ability to vibe and open breaches to alternate dimensions.

Now that we know Cisco will be back, how will he able to cope with his newfound happiness when he will continually find himself drawn into the madness of Team Flash and their metahuman-heavy escapades?
