Marvel Studios announced a host of upcoming TV shows during their Hall H panel.

Marvel Studios kept its future plans pretty close to the vest prior to the end of The Infinity Saga.  But during their San Diego Comic-Con panel, studio head Kevin Feige offered fans a whole lot of goodness regarding the next phase in the fan-favorite franchise.

As the MCU moves past the events of Endgame, the franchise will not rely only on its theatrical offerings. It will also expand to television, with a slew of shows coming exclusively to Disney Plus. Here are all the series announced during the Marvel Studios panel:

(Click here to learn about the many MCU films coming in the next few years):

The Falcon And The Winter Solider

Release date: Fall 2020

Chris Evans passed on the mantle of Captain America to Sam Wilson at the end of Avengers: Endgame. In 2020, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will carry on that storyline, with Wilson and Bucky returning for a brand new adventure. The villain of the show will be Baron Zemo, played by Daniel Brühl, who made his MCU debut as the main villain in Captain America: Civil War.

This time around the character will wear his costume, as Brühl made an appearance in the panel via a video, expressing his excitement to see Bucky and Falcon once again before putting on his ominous purple mask. The show is also reportedly going to feature Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, who last appeared in Civil War.

WandaVision

Release date: Spring 2021

As its title implies, WandaVision will bring back Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany’s Vision. This is no prequel, however. The series is set after the events of Endgame. It’s unclear how Vision will return, but there’s been speculation that Scarlet Witch’s reality-altering abilities could have something to do with his ressurection. During the panel, the show was described as a “mega event,” and it’s no surprise, seeing as it will have huge ramifications for the MCU at large.

Firstly, the series will reintroduce Maria Rambeau’s daughter, Monica Rambeau, who’s now an adult played by Teyonah Parris. Secondly (and perhaps most surprisingly), WandaVision will connect directly to the events of Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness, which Scarlet Witch will be a part of. Marvel promised the show to be unlike anything we’ve seen from them, so we’re excited to delve into Wanda and Vision’s standalone adventure.

Loki

Release date: Spring 2021

Loki died a pretty gruesome death in Avengers: Infinity War, but he’s coming back in full force in Loki. Not much is known about the show but, if you’re wondering how Loki’s back after receiving a neck makeover courtesy of Thanos, that’s because this will be a past version of Loki. Specifically, the show will follow the Loki from the 2012 Battle of New York, who stole the Tesseract and escaped with it after Tony Stark and Scott Lang altered history in an effort to gather the Infinity Stones in Endgame.

What If…?

Release date: Summer 2021

Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Steve Rogers didn’t become Captain America? If you have, get ready, because we’re going to get a chance to see a different version of the MCU in What If…? Much like Marvel’s long-running comic book series of the same name, the animated series will explore alternate versions of pivotal events in the franchise. Not only that, but the show will feature big names from the films.

At the panel, Marvel announced that actors like Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Stanley Tucci, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Michael B. Jordan, Josh Brolin, Tom Hiddleston, Hayley Atwell, Chadwick Boseman, Karen Gillan, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner were taking part in the show.

Staying faithful to its comic book roots, What If…? will be narrated by Uatu, The Watcher, voiced by Jeffrey Wright. The Watchers were previously featured in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, so it will be interesting to see whether the series ties into the movies in any way beyond telling alternate stories with the characters featured in them.

Hawkeye

Release date: Fall 2021

It was reported earlier this year that Marvel Studios was developing a Hawkeye TV series featuring Clint Barton and Kate Bishop. During the panel, the show was finally confirmed, alongside an exciting logo that took inspiration from Dvid Aja and Matt Fraction’s seminal Hawkeye series. This show will bring something new to Hawkeye’s MCU mythology by introducing fan-favorite Kate Bishop into the fold.

More from Marvel Cinematic Universe

During the SDCC panel, Jeremy Renner revealed that the show would focus on Hawkeye teaching Kate Bishop how to be a powerless superhero, much like him:

"“What I get to do in the show ultimately is shepherd an amazing character […] a better version of me and the sentiment of “That is the fiber of what Hawkeye is” […] — a superhero without superpowers and I get to teach someone else to be a superhero without superpowers.”"

Hawkeye has gradually become a pivotal aspect of the MCU, so it will be great to see one of his best comic book storylines adapted for live-action.

There you have it. That’s all the excitement that came from Marvel Studios’ SDCC panel. As it was made clear from the beginning, these shows are firmly set in the MCU and will have a big impact on the film side of the franchise as the overall storyline moves forward.
