Black Lightning: 6 things we need to see from season 3
By Mark Lynch
1. More Jefferson and Black Lightning moments
We didn’t get a lot of Black Lighting or Jefferson Pierce in the previous season. Considering the name of the show is Black Lightning that’s a problem.
Though he had his share of moments, like when he was dealing with Principal Mike Lowry or when Detective Henderson found out the Jefferson was Black Lightning, both of the stories were short-lived. All of the other stories he was involved in he just wasn’t a big part of.
There needs to be more of the star of the show in the upcoming season. Otherwise, why call it Black Lightning? It’s not like the character is so popular that they need his name to continue.
Jefferson is a terrific character. He has the ability to lead the show even with all of the other characters on this show being phenomenal. This season needs to have more big moments where we get emotionally invested in what’s going on with Jefferson and Black Lightning. The previous season lacked that.
We don’t need him to shine in just the fight scenes. Moments where our emotions range from anger to happiness are crucial to his character. It’s probably the most important. Furthermore, if Black Lightning is going to be in the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover, then he definitely needs to have a standout moment.
