8. The Eternals

Release Date: November 6, 2020

Movies like Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Captain Marvel expanded the world of Marvel with gods and aliens. So too will The Eternals as the MCU takes a major leap with a movie that expands their universe beyond what they’ve established.

Director Chloe Zhao’s journey into Marvel’s mythology made a splash with a large roster that features an all-star cast: Angelina Jolie, Selma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Gemma Chan and Barry Keoghan.

Jolie is rumored to play Athena, while Hayek tackles the role of Ajak according to THR. The complex romance between Thena and Kro of the Deviants will surly help drive the story. Of course, Ajak will serve as the group’s leader as the only member who could communicate with their creators.

However, neither of those characters are the lead for the film. In fact, the leaked casting breakdown revealed that the scripts revolved around Sersi. With Captain Marvel actress Gemma Chan on the roster, there’s a chance that she’ll take on the lead role.

We’re still awaiting more casting news and information that should see The Eternals take on The Deviants. The cast of great actors in taking on unfamiliar characters makes The Eternals compelling and highly anticipated we’ll see what it’s all about Nov. 6, 2020.
