2. A Spider-Man and Venom crossover fans (and Tom Holland) want

Tom Hardy is set for a Venom trilogy with Andy Serkis taking control of the follow-up 2018 blockbuster. Despite being panned by critics, Sony had the last laugh with fans showing up to the theater in support of Venom’s solo debut.

Even before the release, conversations started about the possibility of Venom and Spider-Man sharing the big-screen. In fact, the hope for a crossover is why Sony kept Venom rated PG-13 to cement a future crossover film.

With the deal potentially falling through, it opens the door for Tom Holland and Tom Hardy to share the big screen. Although the script for Venom 2 has already been completed with the help of both Hardy and Serkis, a cameo can always happen. In fact, Holland expressed his eagerness to share the screen with Hardy, even it was just a cameo:

"“I would love to share the screen with Tom Hardy… I feel like Tom would have the screen…. I’d pop up in the background because he’s so awesome. But I would love to team up with Tom Hardy and do a Spider-Venom movie.”"

Including Holland’s Spider-Man isn’t a difficult task, regardless of the MCU connections. For starters, Ruben Fleischer’s Venom takes place in San Francisco, away from the New York action that was Spider-Man.

Eddie Brock can return to New York a new man ready to rid his city of evil-doers his way. Moreover, Spider-Man: Far From Home ended with Spider-Man being public enemy number one, which means New York in need of a hero. And who better for Jonah Jameson to welcome than Venom.
