If Spider-Man does leave the MCU, which Marvel Comics character could be the new face of the Avengers?

It’s been a sad time for Spider-Man and Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. Sony announced that they will not be renewing their licensing deal with Marvel Studios for Spider-Man. Under Marvel Studios, Spider-Man became everything that fans wanted him to be. This doesn’t mean that the previous movies were bad; it was just that Tom Holland’s version was the complete package. Along with the creative team, Marvel Studios showed parts of Spider-Man and Peter Parker that we hadn’t seen on the big screen. This was the combination of being an awkward teenager, genius, and thinker. While it’s unfortunate that Spider-Man may no longer be part of the MCU, there’s good news. He isn’t the only character with the ability to be the face of Marvel Studios.

Marvel Comics has a plethora of options at their disposal. Characters like Shuri, Okoye, and Thor could all lead the MCU going forward. And that’s only the characters we’ve seen. Let’s not forget that Marvel now has the X-Men. We could be looking at Storm being the new face of the MCU. Coming up, we have five picks who could lead the Avengers and the MCU into the future. A couple of them are obvious choices, while others may come out of left field.
