Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington is about to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios has a knack for acquiring talent, and their acquisitions of actors like Angelina Jolie, David Harbour and Rachel Weisz for their Phase Four slate say it all. Of course, there’s always room for more in the Marvel family, and they appear to have just snatched up another A-List star.

Deadline reports that Kit Harington is in talks to join a franchise within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The trade couldn’t provide any specifics on what the property would be, but they believe some details could be shared during the Disney D23 Expo.

Harington had a successful career as a stage actor, but things changed in a massive way when he was cast as Jon Snow in HBO’s TV adaptation of Game of Thrones. Since then, Harington has achieved critical acclaim for his portrayal of the lead character. Aside from GoT, he’s also had notable roles in films like Pompeii and the How to Train Your Dragon franchise.

The signing of Harington is a major gain for Marvel Studios and another notch in their already lengthy belt of talent. Not only does the actor bring his acting abilities, but he also carries a built-in fanbase that is sure to follow him to the new franchise.

Of course, the biggest questions that remain are what project he’ll be joining and what character he’ll be playing. He could very well be joining one of Marvel’s announced films like Eternals, which has just begun filming. Or he could be staying in the realm of television with a Disney Plus series like WandaVision or Loki. There’s also the possibility that he’s joining a Phase Five project, as Mahershala Ali did with Blade.
