1. It’s Going To Be Riverdale’s Most Emotional Episode Ever

Luke Perry’s untimely death earlier this year shocked the entire world.

The beloved actor was a teen idol in the ’90s, known for his role as Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210 – which he played from 1990 until 2000 – and was reintroduced to a whole new teenage audience as Archie’s kind-hearted father, Fred Andrews, on Riverdale.

He passed away in February, but the show wrote around his death – using the footage they had of Fred to allow the character to remain part of the show for as long as possible. However, in the season 4 premiere, they’re going to bid farewell to both Fred and Luke in what is undoubtedly going to be the most emotional and heart-breaking episode of Riverdale ever.

We didn’t need to see the promotional photos of “In Memoriam” to know that it’s going to be an emotionally traumatic one (the title really says it all), but it’s hard to look at one of those photos without welling up – so can you imagine how the episode is going to impact viewers?

The photo in question reveals the return of Molly Ringwald as Archie’s mother, Mary Andrews, as she tightly wraps her arms around her son with tears in her eyes. And although we can’t see Archie’s face, it’s clear that he too has a similar expression on his.

Both Luke Perry and Fred Andrews are, and always will be, the heart of Riverdale, and it’s heartbreaking that the former was taken so soon. But the show will honor him with what will undoubtedly be a beautiful tribute by bidding farewell to the latter.
