The cast of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier are excited to find out what Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter has been up to.

Not only will The Falcon and the Winter Soldier thrust Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson into the spotlight, but it will also feature the return of Sharon Carter a.k.a. Agent 13. The character hasn’t been seen since 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, and fans have wondered what the ex-SHIELD operative has been doing for the past few years. The cast has been tight-lipped on details but did tease answers to Carter’s absence.

EW spoke with the cast, consisting of Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp and Wyatt Russell, at Disney’s D23 Expo. Even though they couldn’t say too much, they expressed excitement about finally answering key questions. VanCamp is especially looking forward to diving into Sharon Carter’s exploits:

"“We’re obviously going to find out where Sharon’s been all this time because she’s been on the run.”"

Sebastian Stan echoed these sentiments and is also still wondering how Carter feels about Steve Rogers’ decision in Avengers: Endgame:

"“I’m still thinking about that kiss. Still trying to figure it all out. I’m very excited to see what happened to Sharon and obviously who John Walker (Wyatt Russell) is after Endgame, and I think it’s going to be fun.”"

More from Marvel Cinematic Universe

Emily VanCamp first appeared as Agent 13 in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as an undercover SHIELD agent and potential love interest for Steve Rogers. After the fall of the organization, she joined the CIA but was forced to go into hiding after aiding Rogers’ team in Civil War. Before parting with Cap, the two shared a kiss, hinting at a potential romance. But the relationship was never revisited, and Rogers ultimately returned to the 1940s to be with Sharon’s aunt, Peggy Carter, in Endgame.

Since Carter’s last appearance, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has undergone major changes, and it’s still unclear if she survived the Snap. But like Wilson and Barnes, she’ll likely have to find a place in this new MCU, if she hasn’t already. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will arrive on the Disney Plus streaming service in late 2020.
