The full cast of The Suicide Squad has been unveiled… and it’s amazing
James Gunn has officially unveiled the full cast of The Suicide Squad on social media, and it’s insane!
James Gunn achieved wonderful things with both of Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy films, and he will undoubtedly do so again with Guardians of The Galaxy 3. However, before he returns to space for the third adventure, he’s taking a trip to the darker world of DC Comics to deliver The Suicide Squad – the sequel and/or reboot to 2016’s critically-reviled Suicide Squad.
Given Gunn’s penchant for producing high-quality and aesthetically pleasing ensemble superhero films, fans are actually quite excited for the upcoming villain smackdown (in spite of its predecessor’s not-so-great reputation), and a couple of recent casting announcements have certainly reinforced that excitement.
However, after months of waiting, teasing and speculating, Gunn has officially revealed the full cast for the film and, well, it’s really quite something. Taking to social media, the director posted a picture that featured the names of every major cast member. Check it out below:
The image confirms that returning cast members Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney and recently-announced newcomers Idris Elba, Nathan Fillion, Taika Waititi, David Dastmalchian and Peter Capaldi would be joined by the likes of John Cena, Jennifer Holland, Storm Reid, Julio Ruiz and Daniela Melchior among others.

Now, call us crazy but it’s safe to say that the product looks pretty star-studded. And considering that Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn was one of the strongest aspects of the 2016 film, it’s great to know that she will be back to steal the show – that is, after her leading role in next year’s Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn).
Gunn also included the caption “Don’t get too attached”, suggest that some of the characters more-than-likely won’t make it out alive. If Amanda Waller’s involved, that’s hardly surprising.
The Suicide Squad is set for release on August 6, 2021. Are you even more excited now that you know the cast list? What are you hoping to see in the film? Let us know in the comments below!
