James Gunn has confirmed the cast for The Suicide Squad, but fans are curious to know who Nathan Fillion is playing. These are five characters that he could possibly portray in the movie.

Recently, James Gunn posted on social media the full cast for his movie, The Suicide Squad. The post confirmed a star-studded cast that included the returns of Viola Davis and Margot Robbie and new cast members like Idris Elba, John Cena, Peter Capaldi and notably Nathan Fillion.

Fillion got his first blockbuster role in Saving Private Ryan playing the mistaken James Ryan, but it was Firefly that launched Fillion into the hearts of nerds everywhere. Since then, he has voiced roles on various animated comic-book movies and TV shows – primarily voicing Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in a handful of animated Justice League movies.

Many fans were delighted to hear that Fillion is a member of The Suicide Squad cast especially with his working relationship with Gunn. The acting veteran was in Gunn’s horror movie Slither and has also had cameo appearances in both Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

Gunn also captioned his message of the cast list telling fans to not get too attached to the cast going along with the title of the squad itself. It could be possible that Fillion has a very small role in the movie and gets killed off in the first act of the movie (like we saw with Slipknot in Suicide Squad).

Fans have had a lot of ideas as to who Fillion could play, and given that there is little known about the plot of The Suicide Squad so far, those ideas are endless.

A few characters are confirmed, but the only thing fans can gather from the cast is that there is an eccentric cast of members for Task Force X. With that in mind, here are five characters that Fillion could possibly be playing in The Suicide Squad.
