11. Catwoman and Black Mask

This was a rivalry fans probably didn’t expect to make the list, but Black Mask and Catwoman had a few memorable run-ins over the years. Their bloody rivalry makes for one of the best in DC Comics — let’s take a look at how it all began.

It started with Catwoman’s heroic crusades in East End, Gotham. Catwoman wasn’t anything like Batman. Unlike Batman, Catwoman was the type of hero who’d make sure her enemy stayed down. In fact, she put Black Mask down for good… twice.

Selina saw an opportunity and successfully mastermind a $28 million heist from East End’s crime boss, Black Mask. With the cash, Selina opened a community center. What happened next saw Selina Kyle’s life change.

Like any big bad, Black Mask wanted his revenge. But, none of it would happen without the help of Selina’s childhood friend. After spilling the beans to Black Mask, he successfully orchestrated the kidnapping of Selina’s close friend, Slam, her sister and her husband.

Catwoman vengefully tracked down Black Mask and her so-called friend. Unfortunately, he’d already tortured her friends and family. Still, she didn’t allow him to walk free, unlike Batman who allowed Joker roam freely after killing Jason Todd, but I digress.
