A new full-length trailer for Arrow’s final season has been unveiled, and some familiar faces pop up as the Crisis draws near!

Arrow Season 8 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated TV events of the year. The final season of the founding father of The CW’s Arrowverse, it will also serve as a precursor to this year’s groundbreaking Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover (where Arrow will cross over with The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Black Lightning and even Smallville).

The Crisis has been teased as a major impending event for the last five years, as it once appeared that Barry Allen/The Flash would end up sacrificing himself in the midst of it. However, some reality-rewriting in last season’s Elseworlds crossover suggests that it is now Oliver Queen/Green Arrow who will do the sacrificing. And after The Monitor showed up the Season 7 finale, that became an apparent reality.

With so much anticipation going into the event, The CW has released a brand new trailer for the Season 8 premiere “Starling City”, and you can check it out below:

As the trailer reveals, Oliver will struggle with his own mortality – heartbroken that he has to leave his family behind, and only agreeing to do so as long as he can guarantee their safety.

He then appears to set off on his mission to save the multiverse by visiting what appears to alternate earths and, in the process, feels like history is repeating itself. And it’s easy to see why he feels this way, as he comes across old faces like Tommy Merlyn and Katana, and even finds himself back in what looks like Verdant – his old nightclub from the first few seasons.

However, the most heartfelt moment comes in the concluding seconds of the trailer when we see him standing in a hospital gown as he tears up upon hearing a familiar voice, simply saying “Hi Mom.” Yes, Moira Queen is back and, by the looks of things, Oliver is revisiting his return to Starling City all those years ago.

Joining Oliver and John Diggle will be Earth-2’s Laurel Lance – the former Black Siren, who we now know is the Black Canary – as the trio will work together for the purpose of the multiverse. However, the trailer also reveals that Willa Holland’s returning Thea Queen will assist Oliver, as well as Lexa Doig’s Talia Al Ghul.

Whether or not history is actually repeating itself remains to be seen, but it’s certainly going to feel like we’re reliving history with all of these unbelievably epic moments.

We’re in for one heck of a ride!
