The new Black Lightning trailer shows trouble in Freeland and for the Pierces.

The season 2 finale of Black Lightning left with a heck of a cliffhanger. As if Agent Odell knowing who Black Lightning, Thunder, and Lightning are wasn’t bad enough, the Markovians are coming to Freeland. And they’re coming to start a war. This means that the Pierces will be fighting battles on two fronts.

While we knew this to be true, the recent trailer for season 3 of Black Lightning shows that things are worse than we originally thought. If you take a peek at the link image, you’ll see Jefferson looks terrible: He hasn’t shaved, his hair is a mess, and his grey hair is showing. In short, he looks weathered.

Furthermore, there is no emotion on his face. It’s not often that he looks defeated and helpless. And the white prison suit and background just adds to the depressing look. A good choice by whoever put this together!

Now, if we can get all of that from the thumbnail, you can bet there is so much more going on in the trailer. Coming up are the three most important takeaways from the trailer.

Spoiler alert, don’t be shocked when 90% of the problems revolve around Agent Odell!
