Black Lightning: 3 big takeaways from the Season 3 trailer

… And then there’s Tobias Whale

We have the Markovians fighting in Freeland with no Black Lighting around to protect the residents. Freeland is probably a mess from all the chaos, which will probably lead to Agent Odell losing control of the city after making some irrational decisions. With all of that, there’s still one more thing to worry about. Tobias Whale is somewhere locked up and furious.

We knew that Tobias wasn’t going to take being imprisoned lightly. In the trailer he says, “I’m gonna get out of here. And I’m gonna kill you and everyone you care about.” Trust and believe, Tobias will escape and he will make good on his promise. He was close to having it all only to be defeated. The question is: Who is he talking to?

There’s Black Lightning who helped put him there. Tobias may have seen him from his cell or heard his voice. Tobias could also be talking Agent Odell who is most likely antagonizing him by asking him to fight for his country to get his freedom. No way this season ends without Tobias killing a major character… most likely Odell.

This season of Black Lightning looks deep. We’re going to see our favorite characters change. Some of them will harden and others will be taking on new roles. So much was shown in a trailer that was less than two minutes. Imagine what we’ll see in the whole first episode.
