It’s safe to say that Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn) is one of the most heavily-anticipated movies of 2020.

The film will not only serve as the eighth installment in the DCEU, it will feature the return of Margot Robbie’s beloved Harley Quinn and, more importantly, feature the live-action debut of the titular group of female superheroes: the Birds of Prey.

It’s already created a lot of buzz, with a number of recently-released posters focusing heavily on Harley’s return. However, expect that buzz to increase tenfold as the film’s trailer has been officially released by Warner Bros. Check it out below:

With Robbie headlining, the film will also star Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Dinah Lance/Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Helena Bertinelli/Huntress, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz and Ewan McGregor as the Big Bad Batman villain Roman Sionis/Black Mask.

Robbie’s Harley Quinn made her first appearance in Suicide Squad and, in spite of that film’s negative reception, the acclaimed actress was applauded for her energetic, delightful and comic-accurate portrayal.

This may not be the only time we see the Birds of Prey gather on our screens next year, as The CW is currently developing a female-centric Arrow spin-off set to focus on Black Canaries Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) and Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy) which, if it is picked up, will likely hit the small screen in fall 2020.
