Adam Strange solo TV series in development at DC
Krypton has been canceled, but Adam Strange may find a new home in his own TV series that is currently in development at DC.
Many fans were disappointed to hear that Krypton would be canceled just after two seasons. Shaun Sipos was one of the stars of the series, playing Adam Strange. While he may not reprise his role as the character, Geeks WorldWide is reporting that an Adam Strange TV series is in development at DC.
GWW speculates that the series will land on HBO Max, a new streaming service from WarnerMedia Entertainment that is expected to launch in spring 2020. HBO Max will also be streaming the second season of Doom Patrol in conjunction with DC Universe, DC’s own streaming service that streams Titans and other original shows. It’s most likely that this Adam Strange series will also stream on both platforms.
Adam Strange made his debut in 1958 in Showcase No. 17. Showcase was a comic book title where DC could experiment with different characters and gauge audience reaction to determine whether that character would get their own title. The Silver Age Flash and Green Lantern were featured in this series.

Unfortunately for Adam Strange, he has never really had a long-running title or any memorable run as a solo hero. He has made appearances as a supporting character to the Justice League of America in Grant Morrison’s run of the team and in the massive 52 story post-Infinite Crisis.
Tom King is currently working on an Adam Strange title that is set to be released next year.
The potential for Adam Strange is there. As the protector of Rann, he has access to their technology and, along with his high intellect, he has the skill set to be a compelling hero. He also has a romantic relationship with a Rannian named Alanna, which can build more to a great, sci-fi superhero story under the right hands and direction.
