Walt Disney Studios has officially launched an awards campaign for Avengers: Endgame.

The awards season for motion pictures is quickly approaching and, as such, studios are already looking to push their films for recognition. This includes Walt Disney Studios, which is touting a number of films, including Avengers: Endgame.

Disney has officially launched an awards campaign for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame through their “For Your Consideration” website. The site reveals that the studio is pushing the superhero epic for 12 nominations:

Best Picture – Kevin Feige, p.g.a

Best Director – Anthony and Joe Russo

Best Adapted Screenplay – Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely

Best Cinematography – Trent Opaloch

Best Film Editing – Jeffrey Ford, ACE, Matthew Schmidt

Best Production Design – Production Designer: Charles Wood/Set Decorator: Tonja Schurmann

Best Costume Design – Judianna Makovsky

Best Makeup & Hairstyling – John Blake, Janine Thompson and Brian Sipe

Best Sound Mixing – Tom Johnson, Juan Peralta and John Pritchett, CAS

Best Sound Editing – Shannon Mills, Daniel Laurie

Best Visual Effects – Dan Deleeuw, Matt Aitken, Russell Earl and Dan Sudick

Best Original Score – Alan Silvestri

This isn’t the first time Disney has tried to build awards hype for a Marvel Studios production. Last year, the studio also spearheaded a campaign for Avengers: Infinity War. Originally pushed for 11 nominations, the film earned one Academy Awards nod for Best Visual Effects but lost to First Man.

More from Marvel Cinematic Universe

While most of the prospective categories are the same from last year’s campaign, the studio does seem more ambitious by adding a Best Picture nod. Still, Marvel Studios has experience with this particular category. In addition to Infinity War, Disney also launched a campaign for Black Panther last year, including a possible Best Picture nod The film ultimately earned the nomination at the Oscars. However, it lost out on the prestigious award to Green Book.

One category that was notably left off the list was Best Actor, which many assumed would serve as a spot for Robert Downey Jr. This speculation began after directors Joe and Anthony Russo argued that he should be nominated for his performance.

There’s a firm chance Endgame will miss out on a number of these nominations, like Infinity War did last year. However, it will more than likely score a nomination for Best Visual Effects. Disney and Marvel Studios have a lot of confidence in the film, and we’ll see if it brings home any trophies as awards season unfolds.
