Supergirl returns to our screens for its long-awaited fifth season, and here’s how you can watch it online.

Supergirl received critical acclaim during its fourth season for showcasing some strong writing, strong messages and two incredibly strong villains in Agent Liberty and Lex Luthor.

However, it’s onwards and upwards (or should that be “up… up… and away”?) for the Girl of Steel and her team at the D.E.O. as they prepare to swoop into battle again in the show’s upcoming fifth season.

The show made history last season when it was moved to Sunday nights, opening up The CW’s TV schedule with a sixth primetime evening and, in spite of competing against the likes of Game of Thrones at times, it held its own and even thrived.

As a result, Supergirl will continue to dominate Sunday nights this season, but this time, she won’t be on her own as the show has been paired with CW newcomer Batwoman – which will now hold Supergirl‘s former 8pm slot as the Girl of Steel moves to 9pm.

But just what should we expect from the season premiere? Well, the episode is titled “Event Horizon” and will see Kara debut her brand new Supergirl uniform as she goes up against the deadly Midnight.

However, the gang will also have to deal with the fallout of last season, as Lena Luthor now knows Kara’s secret and J’onn J’onzz will eventually face off with his supposedly evil twin brother Malefic. And that’s before we even take the upcoming Crisis into account!
