A new report claims that Marvel has plans to bring back Liv Tyler and William Hurt for the upcoming She-Hulk series.
Many fans were ecstatic to hear that She-Hulk will be coming to the MCU in the form of her own Disney Plus series. Jennifer Walters may be joined by the returns of Betty Ross and Thunderbolt Ross.
CBR.com’s freelance journalist, Daniel Richtman, is reporting that early plans for the show include bringing back Liv Tyler and William Hurt for the Disney Plus series.
Hurt’s inclusion may not come to a surprise for fans since he has made appearances in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and he is set to for an appearance in Black Widow.
What is surprising, though, is the inclusion of Tyler since she has not made an appearance in the MCU since The Incredible Hulk. The Betty Ross character has also not been mentioned in the MCU since the 2008 movie.
Marvel has slightly altered the Thunderbolt Ross character, so it is likely they will do the same for Betty Ross. What can be made certain is that Marvel Studios will not mention The Incredible Hulk. They have continued to ignore the events in that movie since Mark Ruffalo was cast to replace Edward Norton as Bruce Banner in The Avengers.
Richtman is also reporting that Marvel will be holding open auditions for women between the ages of 30-40 for the role of Jennifer Walters. Richtman also notes that these plans are in the very early stages and things could change at any time.
She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters is Bruce Banner/The Hulk’s cousin, and she gains her powers after Bruce provided her with blood to save her life. The details for all Disney Plus series, including the She-Hulk series, are scarce at the moment.
Kevin Feige proved Marvel is adaptable with the slight alteration of Thunderbolt Ross, so they are trusted to do so again if Betty Ross makes her return to the MCU.
