The long-anticipated, new game in Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham franchise may have a title and new playable characters.

There have been so many reports of a rumoured DC–related game in the works from game studios that there are too much to count. Rumors have been stacked at different avenues on what actual project either WB Games Montreal or Rocksteady Studios is allegedly working on. Reports have jumped back and forth – from a Superman game to a Justice League game, and even to an Outlaws game. What remains constant, however, is that some kind of game development is indeed going on behind the scenes.

According to a recent headline from CBR.com, there is yet another entry in the Batman: Arkham franchise (or Arkhamverse as coined by fans) in the works. The game’s title is believed to be Arkham Legacy, and the entire Bat-Family will supposedly be playable characters. Gaming insider, Sabi, pointed out the new title, noting that: “The stuff about the playable family seems to be legit.”

Not long ago, WB Games posted a short clip on their social media accounts with a cryptic message, which seemed to refer to The Court of Owls, as evidenced by the insignia that was constantly changing to present a message. The Court of Owls, created by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, first appeared in Batman Vol.2 No.3 in 2011. They are an organized crime ring and secret society that has controlled Gotham City for centuries. The Court has been involved in targeting socialites and political figures. They also use assassins known as Talons to carry out such hits.

Whether or not Arkham Legacy is the actual title of the game, or if in actual fact it is the project WB Games/Rocksteady has been working on this entire time is not known nor can be clarified at this time. Arkham Legacy is not confirmed to be linked to the symbol of The Court released some time back.
