One of the villains from Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight series may have been revealed.

Marvel’s Moon Knight still a little ways away and, as such, details are scarce on Marc Spector’s Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. But while the title character has yet to even be cast, we may have some information on at least one of the show’s villains.

MCU Cosmic reports that Moon Knight villain Stained Glass Scarlet may appear in the Disney Plus series. The trade couldn’t verify if she’ll serve as the main antagonist, but her consistent presence in the comics would indicate a major role for her.

Created by comic book veterans Doug Moench, Bill Sienkiewicz and Jim Shooter, Stained Glass Scarlet made her Marvel Comics debut in Moon Knight No. 14 in 1981. The character was conceived as an ex-nun who turned to the life of a vigilante after she had to kill her criminal son. Scarlet’s life was a miserable one marked by child abuse and a crime-riddled husband and son.

It was during her stint working as a guard in a women’s prison that Scarlet learned combat skills, which she would later put to use as a vigilante. She eventually resolved to hunt down any and all criminals that were responsible for her son falling into a life of crime. This would cause her to cross paths with Moon Knight, who would ultimately let her escape after their confrontation. Eventually, it was even revealed that the two shared a sort of psychic bond.

Scarlet isn’t Moon Knight’s archnemesis, as that title belongs to Bushman. Nevertheless, her backstory and connection to the main character would make her a strong addition to the show. Her motivations steer clear of some of the typical villain tropes, and mentally linking her to Spector would add an extra layer to the story. We’ll just have to wait and see if she does show up in the series.
