Deadpool 3 may already be in the works at Marvel Studios

Deadpool could be entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe earlier than we thought.
Deadpool’s big-screen future became somewhat uncertain following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, which brought the character home to Marvel Studios. The Merc with a Mouth’s language and violent crime-fighting style don’t appear to mesh with the lighter tone of the MCU. However, Disney may have just taken a big step in bringing the character into the fold.
According to a report from HN Entertainment, Disney has filed to establish a new shell corporation for one of their upcoming films. The company is named Finger Guns Productions LLC, and such a specific name links directly to Deadpool.
It’s been rumored for a while that Disney and Marvel Studios are brainstorming ways to introduce Deadpool into the MCU. These reports only heated up when franchise co-writer Paul Wernick confirmed that any future installments will remain R-rated. What makes matters even more interesting is that Ryan Reynolds recently took a trip to the Marvel Studios offices, though he didn’t share any details about his visit.

Reynolds, along with Wernick and co-writer Rhett Reese, still aren’t quite sure where the series is headed now that it has a new home. Still, all remain interested in continuing the adventures of the Regenerating Degenerate.
This new development doesn’t necessarily confirm that the franchise is actively being worked on at Marvel Studios, but it’s difficult to imagine that a company known as “Finger Point Productions” could refer to anyone but Deadpool. Plus, it’s already been confirmed that there are plans for the X-Men at Marvel, so why wouldn’t an X-Men-adjacent character like Wade Wilson be a part of the discussion?
If Deadpool is getting another cinematic outing, it likely won’t be released for at least another few years, making the film a possible addition to Marvel’s Phase Five slate. This means we could see the fan-favorite character return in 2022 at the earliest.
