Arrow: Paul Blackthorne will return as Quentin Lance in the final season
Paul Blackthorne is the latest familiar face to return for Arrow’s eighth and final season, but how will Quentin Lance return?
With Arrow‘s final season now underway, it’s hardly surprising to hear that multiple of the show’s beloved former cast members are returning one final time.
While long-standing cast members Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy and David Ramsey are still a regular part of the show, they have already been joined by former friends Susanna Thompson, John Barrowman, Colin Donnell, Josh Segarra, Willa Holland and Lexa Doig who all reprised their roles as Moira Queen, Malcolm and Tommy Merlyn, Adrian Chase, Thea Queen/Speedy and Talia Al Ghul.
Those familiar faces will also be joined Colton Haynes who will once again return as Roy Harper/Arsenal and Emily Bett Rickards who will reprise her role as Felicity Smoak in the final episode. However, they aren’t the only ones making a comeback.

As revealed by TVLine, Paul Blackthorne will also be joining the fray as he is set to appear in multiple episodes of the final season. It’s hardly surprising that he will return because, after all, he was such a major part of the show for so long.
Blackthorne portrayed Quentin Lance for the show’s first six seasons before the character was killed off in the Season 6 finale. As the father of Laurel and Sara Lance, he experienced more heartbreak than he deserved as he lost both of his daughters over the course of the show’s run.
However, he rose up, accepted Oliver for the Green Arrow that he had become, and ultimately sacrificed himself to save the Earth-2 doppelganger of Laurel – Black Siren.
Blackthorne is a part of Arrow‘s very fabric, so it goes without saying that he deserves to be a part of it. Though we don’t quite know how they’ll manage to bring Quentin back (Thompson, Barrowman, Segarra and Donnell all portrayed Earth-2 doppelgangers of their dead characters, but Earth-2 has since been destroyed), we can’t wait to see him return.
Arrow‘s final season airs on The CW on Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. ET. Are you excited about Paul Blackthorne’s return? Let us know in the comments below!
