Marvel’s upcoming Loki show will tie into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Marvel’s Loki will revive the God of Mischief and send him on a time-hopping adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the series will chart new territory for the lead character, it will also connect to another upcoming Marvel Studios project.

In Bloomberg’s in-depth story on Disney Plus, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige confirmed that Loki will tie directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before,” Feige admitted. “But it does.”

Loki won’t be the only MCU show with ties to the Doctor Strange sequel, as the Wanda Maximoff and Vision-led WandaVision will also set the stage for the film. Elizabeth Olsen is also set to reprise her role as Maximoff in Strange’s latest big-screen outing.

More from Marvel Cinematic Universe

What we know about the series, at this point, is that Tom Hiddleston will reprise his signature as Thor’s troublesome yet lovable brother, but this will be the 2012 version of the antihero who was last seen disappearing with the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame. Early concept art teased that the character will be jumping into different time periods, as well. The show is also expected to answer lingering questions, including whether or not the Loki from the present-day MCU timeline truly died at the hands of Thanos.

The project’s connection to In the Multiverse of Madness may indicate that the Asgardian trickster’s reality-warping activities will have effects on the multiverse. This could easily attract Strange’s attention and maybe even cause the two characters to cross paths in the film.

Loki’s carefree actions are sure to have significant effects on Strange and Maximoff’s adventure, which should make the upcoming sequel that much more interesting. Loki is slated to arrive on Disney Plus in early 2021.
