The Snyder Cut movement is riding a wave of support and a newly-surfaced image of Aquaman could push it a step closer to release.

November 8th will surely go down in cinema history as one of the most important days in the movement to get the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League released.  The hashtag for the movement was trending worldwide with over 60k tweets, calling on AT&T and Warner Bros. to release the original vision of director Zack Snyder.

It’s no secret that Justice League underwent massive changes in post-production, as the studio ordered reshoots and cuts to the final edit, which transformed what would have been a trilogy-spanning story into a single installment.

When one looks at everything that happened, it’s actually amazing that the picture we got was watchable and even to some extent enjoyable. Over time, more details began to leak regarding Snyder’s original vision and the tale he had set out to tell. It wasn’t long before the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement began.

While there are still some who doubt its existence, Zack Snyder himself, Jason Mamoa and others have all confirmed the existence of the fabled “Snyder Cut.”

Aquaman star Jason Momoa has always been very loyal to Zack Snyder, going as far as saying he owes his entire career to the director. Momoa has mentioned that the Snyder Cut was “sick” and a film the public needed to see. However, he had not fully jumped on board the movement.

This all changed when he released a previously unseen still from the “Snyder Cut.” Snyder had previously stated that Steppenwolf was killed in his version and heavily illuded that he meets his end at the hands of Wonder Woman. However, a new image shows that Aquaman also seemingly played a role in the Destroyer of Worlds’ demise. In a black and white shot, we see an image of Arthur Curry hoisting an impaled Steppenwolf on his trident.

It’s a badass shot and one that seemingly shows that Snyder’s original version was more violent then we thought. (There were already reports that it would feature Steppenwolf getting a beat down from an “Unhinged” recently resurrected Superman) Not only did Jason Momoa post the photo but, for the first time, he used the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, which is a significant move.

And this isn’t the only photo from the supposed alternate cut to be revealed. Recently, Snyder posted an image from a deleted scene featuring Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen and Kiersey Clemons’ Iris West.

This seems to indicate that the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement has gained a very powerful ally, one who has earned over a billion dollars for WB and is very outspoken about his love of Zack Snyder.
